Actor Jung Bo-seok has shared his new life as the CEO of a cosmetics company and offered candid thoughts about his family. Park Seo-jin, meanwhile, teamed up with magician Choi Hyun-woo to prepare a special stage for fans as part of a new challenge.
According to My Daily, Jung appeared Saturday on KBS2's "Salimhaneun Namjadeul Season 2" — a lifestyle show — as the first featured subject of a new segment called "Monthly Salimnam." Hosts Eun Ji-won, Lee Yo-won and Park Seo-jin were joined by special guest Lee Hyun of Baby Don't Cry as Jung's daily routine and Park's magic rehearsal process were shown. The episode recorded a peak per-minute viewership rating of 6.2 percent nationwide based on Nielsen Korea data, with a scene of Jung repeatedly talking to an employee who was trying to eat being named the best moment of the broadcast.
Jung began that day at his home in Seongbuk-dong, showcasing a disciplined self-care routine. Starting with stretches in bed, he moved on to a water-only face wash, a five-step skincare regimen, a weigh-in and a healthy breakfast.
He explained that consistent upkeep is essential for an actor, adding that he has maintained a height of 180 centimeters and a weight between 75.5 and 76.5 kilograms for 41 years. He said he adjusts his food intake based on his weight and has eaten the same breakfast for 15 years — prompting Lee Hyun to marvel that the regimen rivaled that of an idol group member.
After his morning routine, Jung headed to an office on the first floor of his home. Long interested in skincare, he founded a cosmetics company and now leads it as chief executive. After working with his design team leader, he traveled to Pangyo to meet with cosmetics researchers and attend a meeting. Eun Ji-won expressed admiration at seeing Jung actively contribute specialized knowledge and ideas about the products.
Jung then visited a bakery run by his second son, accompanied by his wife. The son appeared visibly nervous as his father carefully inspected every corner of the store. Jung scrutinizes the place like a demanding customer whenever he stops by, the son said.
Over bread and conversation, the son opened up about a childhood grievance with his father. He recounted being sent outside for an hour as punishment for failing to greet his father properly. When the son said the strict parenting had made him feel distant enough to start using formal speech with his father, Jung laughed and said he had no memory of it.
"Salimhaneun Namjadeul Season 2" airs every Saturday at 10:35 p.m. on KBS2.
