Broadcaster Harisu has spoken out about her discomfort after being asked an invasive question about her private sex life.

In a video published Saturday on the YouTube channel Studio830, Harisu recalled that a reporter asked her, "How do you have a sex life with your husband?" at a press conference announcing her marriage.

"It doesn't even make sense that someone would bring that up," she said. "We weren't even close. Even between close friends it would be a rude question — and then suddenly someone asks that at a press conference."

She added, "I wondered what was in that person's head. I thought, how do you live your life that you can say something so filthy? I did tell that reporter off sharply and told them to get a grip."

Harisu has spoken on other programs as well about facing inappropriate demands because she is transgender. In a web entertainment show released in September last year, she said she had frequently been asked to prove she was a woman, been propositioned for sex, and told to undress.

"There are countless roles I gave up and contracts I couldn't sign because of that," she said, describing the difficulties she faced while working in the entertainment industry.

Harisu made her debut in a cosmetics advertisement in 2001 and has since worked as a singer, actor and broadcaster. She married singer Mickey Jung in 2007 and the two divorced by mutual agreement in 2017.

In a YouTube broadcast last August, she said she and her ex-husband still cheer each other on, but that she refrains from contacting him out of consideration for his new family after he remarried. On the possibility of her own remarriage, she said, "Right now, I have no intention of getting married."
