The Dalseong-gun Council in Daegu opened its 330th extraordinary session Thursday, kicking off a 14-day legislative schedule that runs through Oct. 21.

The session will take up 14 agenda items, including ordinance proposals and amendments. On the opening day, four council members delivered five-minute free speeches on key local issues.

Council member Kim Eun-young proposed a proactive pine wilt disease control strategy, calling for early prevention and an active shift to alternative tree species. Council member Kim Myung-hwa called for the introduction of a living wage system to guarantee workers' basic livelihoods and uphold the value of labor.

Council member Kwon Ju-yeon proposed establishing and operating a work uniform laundry service to improve the rights and welfare of workers at local industrial complexes. Council member Kim Sung-hwa urged the council to finalize follow-up measures for the relocation of the Dalseong-gun Youth Center and to ensure construction of the Nongong-eup residents' welfare hall proceeds without delay.

Deliberations on the 14 agenda items are set to begin Monday, with the session concluding Oct. 21 following votes on ordinance bills and approval of the 2026 administrative audit plan.

Council Speaker Gwak Dong-hwan said the council would carefully examine issues closely tied to residents' daily lives and thoroughly prepare to conduct a comprehensive review of county administration ahead of the November administrative audit.
