Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho marked his 100th day in office Thursday by posting a message on his social media titled "On the 100th day of the ninth directly elected term."
Choi is serving his third term as Anyang mayor, having won re-election after one unsuccessful bid between terms.
"If the past 100 days were a time of preparation, now is the time to move with speed," he wrote. "Like the accelerator and brake of a car, we must push forward with momentum while making our checks all the more thorough."
He went on to say, "We will build an organization grounded in transparency, fairness and objectivity — one that properly recognizes both results and effort, and where those closest to us are the first to find happiness, in the spirit of 'near ones rejoice, distant ones draw near.'"
Choi added, "From Anyang's songs and festivals to A-Food, we will nurture content unique to Anyang and raise the city's brand value through culture. We will also keep a close eye on issues that directly affect residents' daily lives — the Indeokwon residential mixed-use project, the Pyeongchon new town redevelopment and the autonomous driving bus service. On this 100th day, we will answer citizens' trust with more transparent, fair and objective governance. Any Way, Anyang!"
