Third-week program of 'Korea Premium Week'
Open to all via YouTube live stream
Samsung Asset Management announced Thursday it will host an ETF investment webinar to discuss strategies for navigating heightened volatility in the domestic stock market amid a high-rate environment.
The webinar, themed "2027 Market Outlook and ETF Investment Strategy," will be broadcast live on the company's official YouTube channel starting at 6 p.m. Monday. In the first session, Oh Seung-hun, head of Samsung Asset Management's research center, will present his outlook on domestic and overseas markets for next year.
Samsung Asset Management expects AI infrastructure and services sectors — which tend to generate strong earnings — to remain promising as the high-rate environment persists. For the domestic market, the firm projects that listed companies' earnings will not be fully reflected in share prices, given concerns over increased volatility and the semiconductor cycle.
However, if shareholder return policies gain full momentum next year and listed companies sustain their earnings, the firm expects domestic stocks to see a re-rating.
In the second session, Ahn Jeong-jin, head of Samsung Asset Management's ETF consulting team, will present ETF investment strategies for applying the market outlook to actual portfolios. The session will highlight bottlenecks in the semiconductor sector — where supply shortages intensify as AI advances — and the downstream ripple effects on equipment, power infrastructure and ESS.
The webinar will also introduce ways to use the Kosdaq 150 ETF, which offers broad exposure to growth sectors in line with government policies to revitalize Kosdaq.
The event is part of the third week of "Korea Premium Week," being held for the first time this year. Korea Premium Week is the country's largest capital market IR event, bringing together 42 organizations — including the Financial Services Commission, Korea Exchange, the Korea Financial Investment Association, the Korea Securities Depository and Korea Securities Finance — along with financial investment firms, media outlets and 55 listed companies.
No advance registration is required; anyone can watch the webinar through Samsung Asset Management's official YouTube channel live stream. A prize event will also be held, with 500 winners selected by lottery during the webinar to receive prizes including Twosome Place Americano vouchers, BBQ chicken sets and Daiso mobile gift cards.
Samsung Asset Management has previously published pension investment guides, including "ETF Alchemist" and "Complete ETF Mastery in One Week," aimed at giving ETF investors a reliable compass. The company said it aims to set a qualitative standard for the market through innovative product development, stable fund management and the provision of foundational education content.
