Hosan University announced Thursday that it has received final approval from the Ministry of Education to establish a bachelor's degree advanced major program in radiology, with enrollment set to begin next year.
The newly approved program will give graduates of existing three-year radiology programs at junior colleges the opportunity to earn a four-year bachelor's degree and pursue advanced coursework in the field.
Medical imaging is one of the fastest-growing areas for cutting-edge healthcare technology, including AI, digital image processing and 3D medical imaging information systems.
In line with the broader shift toward the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Hosan University is focusing its educational resources on training advanced, convergence-oriented radiology specialists capable of applying the latest digital technologies directly in clinical settings.
Kim Kyung-hee, head of the radiology department at Hosan University, said the program "will serve as an excellent springboard for radiology graduates of junior colleges to build practical experience while elevating their major competencies to the bachelor's level."
