Yoo Jung, a former member of girl group Laboum, has announced she will marry this winter.

Yoo Jung shared a handwritten letter on her Instagram account Thursday, writing, "This coming winter, I am getting married," and adding that she had found "a wonderful partner to spend the rest of my life with."

"I met a wonderful person who cherishes me like a daughter — someone who made me feel every day how loved I am, and whose presence puts my heart at ease," she wrote. She added that the couple had spent the past year preparing for the wedding at their own pace and that she was now happy to share the news.

Yoo Jung also reflected on the passage of time, noting that she had written a handwritten letter to fans in September 2021 when she wrapped up her seven-year contract and concluded her activities with Laboum, and that five years had already passed since then. "I have been building new experiences one by one, gradually filling my life with more substance," she wrote.

She went on to say that heartfelt words of encouragement from fans — telling her they hoped she would meet someone wonderful and find greater happiness — had stayed with her for a long time. "I think those words of support gave me the courage to turn to a new page in my life," she said.

During her time with Laboum, Yoo Jung served as the group's leader and lead vocalist. She was a member from August 2014 to September 2021.
