The 2026 Sangsaeng Enterprise Pop-Up Market will be held Oct. 17 at the plaza in front of Times Square, featuring 15 local businesses selling everyday goods, food and more.
Yeongdeungpo-gu will host "Sangsaengdoeda," a pop-up market bringing together outstanding local social enterprises and small businesses, at the plaza in front of Times Square on Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Held under the slogan "Imagination for a Better Life, Becoming Everyday Life!," the event is designed to introduce residents to quality products made by social enterprises, cooperatives and local small businesses, and to promote a culture of ethical consumption in daily life.
A total of 15 local businesses and small merchants will take part, offering product sales, hands-on programs and promotional activities across a range of booths.
Ten sales booths will showcase high-quality products with social value — including zero-waste household items such as dish soap bars and shampoo bars, artwork by local artists, diffusers made by workers with disabilities, and recycled and handcrafted goods — all available for purchase in one place.
Five experience booths will offer hands-on programs that bring the spirit of mutual growth to life. Activities open to all ages include making eco-bags, crafting hand mirrors from discarded paint can lids, and building phone stands from scrap wood. Participants will be charged a fee of 3,000 to 5,000 won ($2 to $4).
The central stage will host two indie band busking performances — at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. — along with a face-painting event for children and families. A dedicated promotional booth will also display materials from businesses in sectors not directly represented at the market, helping them reach new customers and raise their profiles.
"I hope this pop-up market opens new sales channels for social enterprises and small businesses, and gives residents a meaningful chance to experience the value of ethical consumption firsthand," Yeongdeungpo-gu District Mayor Jo Yu-jin said. "We will continue to actively support the creation of a healthy economic ecosystem where the local community and businesses can grow together."
