Press conference set for Thursday morning; council to donate 10,000 charcoal briquettes on Oct. 15
The Busan Metropolitan City Council announced Wednesday it will hold a series of commemorative events to mark the 100th day since the launch and opening of the 10th council, reaffirming its commitment to legislative activities aimed at "citizen happiness and the development of Busan."
On Thursday morning, the council's presiding officers, standing committee chairs, floor leaders of both parties and special committee chairs will gather to share traditional rice cakes and celebrate the milestone.
A press conference marking the 100-day launch will follow in the council briefing room, where members will highlight key legislative achievements and outline the direction of future council operations. A media roundtable with the press corps will also be held to gather a range of views on issues facing Busan.
Starting Tuesday, the 100th day since the council's formal opening, the council plans to roll out content aimed at engaging citizens. A commemorative video featuring a message from Council Speaker Kang Mu-gil, along with highlights of the 10th council's major achievements and future operational direction, will be shared on the council's website, social media channels and its public information center.
On Oct. 15, about 60 people — including council members and administrative staff — will take part in a "Sharing Briquettes of Love" event, donating 10,000 charcoal briquettes. Some of the briquettes will be delivered directly to households of energy-vulnerable residents.
"On the 100th day of the 10th council, I want to look back on the past 100 days together with our citizens, listen to their voices and pursue legislative activities that find answers on the ground," Council Speaker Kang said. "The Busan City Council will do its utmost solely for the happiness of citizens and the development of Busan."
