The Professional Billiards Association of Korea and Hana Card have launched the PBA Hana Check Card, a co-branded debit card targeting billiards fans.
The two organizations held a launch ceremony Tuesday at the PBA Stadium in Goyang Kintex, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, attended by PBA President Yoon Young-dal, Hana Card CEO Sung Young-soo, and players Kim Ga-young and Kim Young-won.
A portion of each transaction made with the card is contributed to a PBA development fund. Cardholders receive 50 percent cashback on spending at billiard halls and 5 percent cashback at everyday establishments including restaurants, gas stations and hospitals. Monthly cashback is capped at 10,000 to 20,000 won ($15), depending on the previous month's spending.
The card also offers 50 percent discounts on PBA and LPBA tour tickets, along with invitations to special events such as one-point lessons with Hana Card-affiliated players. There is no annual fee.
The card comes in three designs: a standard version and two player editions featuring Kim Ga-young and Kim Young-won, each bearing the respective player's caricature and handwritten signature.
"Every time you use the card, a portion of your spending accumulates as a PBA development fund," Sung said. "We will support PBA so that billiards can bring joy to more people."
