Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced Wednesday that it is participating in the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026), held in Antalya, Turkey, from Monday through Friday (local time).
Organized by the International Astronautical Federation, the IAC is the world's largest space event, drawing more than 10,000 government officials, space agency representatives and industry experts from 80 to 100 countries.
KAI first joined the congress in 2009 as part of a small delegation within the Korea Aerospace Research Institute's Korean pavilion, and has operated its own independent booth since the 2023 congress held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
At this year's event, KAI is showcasing three satellite platforms: a low-Earth orbit communications satellite based on 6G international standards, the next-generation medium-sized satellite CAS500-2 — a multipurpose standard platform with a government operational heritage — and the compact synthetic aperture radar satellite KSIS-K.
KAI is also presenting its vision for expanding downlink services in partnership with Maisa, an imaging data company in which KAI holds a stake as its second-largest shareholder, as part of broader plans to build space-based infrastructure services.
During the exhibition, KAI plans to hold a series of meetings with major overseas space agencies and aerospace companies. Through talks with space agencies from various countries, the company aims to strengthen cooperative frameworks for projects at the national level.
"We will intensively promote KAI's proven satellite platform technology and project capabilities to expand global partnerships and generate tangible export results," a KAI official said.
