New trim blends MINI's character with JCW design elements
Adaptive suspension, JCW sport brakes and other sporty specs included
MINI Korea announced Wednesday the launch of the JCW Pack, a new trim designed to bring the dynamic design and driving character of its high-performance JCW (John Cooper Works) brand into a more accessible format.
JCW takes its name from racing car builder John Cooper, who created the first Mini Cooper based on the classic Mini in 1961. The JCW Pack adds JCW-specific design elements and performance specifications to standard MINI models, giving customers who want a sportier everyday experience a new option. Unlike an optional package, the JCW Pack operates as a standalone trim.
On the exterior, black high-gloss details have been applied to the front grille, bumper, skid plate, side skirts and wheel arches for a bold look, while JCW-exclusive black lightweight alloy wheels further emphasize the sporty character.
The lower air intakes at each end of the front bumper use black high-gloss trim rather than the red found on full JCW models, and the bonnet stripe has been omitted for a more restrained aesthetic. Exterior color options vary by model and include Ocean Wave Green, Blazing Blue and British Racing Green.
Inside, a JCW-exclusive steering wheel and JCW sport seats in Vescin material reinforce the dynamic feel. Seat color choices of black or beige are available depending on the model, paired with a clean black dashboard for a refined finish.
Driving performance has also been upgraded. Adaptive suspension using frequency-selective dampers comes as standard — the system adjusts damping force according to the frequency of road vibrations, absorbing bumps smoothly while providing firm body support through corners.
JCW sport brakes deliver strong, stable stopping power. A seven-speed Steptronic Sport dual-clutch transmission and paddle shifters round out the package, offering faster and more intuitive gear changes.
"We will roll out the JCW Pack broadly across all model lineups so that a wide range of customers can enjoy the JCW style in their own way," a MINI Korea official said.
Meanwhile, MINI Korea continues to expand customer touchpoints and broaden its lineup through various marketing activities, including the launch of the MINI Cooper Paul Smith Edition this month.
The MINI Cooper Paul Smith Edition reflects the long-running collaboration between the two brands across the Cooper C 3-Door, the Cooper C 5-Door and the Cooper Convertible C, consistently channeling Paul Smith's distinctive sensibility across three different body styles.
