Program provides customized hangul teaching materials, Lotteria burger vouchers
Lotte GRS announced Wednesday that it has launched the "2026 Hangul Day 100th Anniversary Hangul and Career Support Project for Migrant-Background Children" in partnership with international relief and development NGO Korea Food for the Hungry International, ahead of Hangul Day on Oct. 9.
The project was designed to help migrant-background children overcome language barriers. It provides Korean-language instruction and career exploration opportunities to support language development, school adjustment and future career planning. Teaching materials — including Korean textbooks, magnetic letters and word cards — are also provided.
The program also includes career and vocational experience activities. A Krispy Kreme doughnut cooking class for migrant-background children was held at Saekkeum School of the Multicultural Love Association on Sept. 30. Additional vocational experience programs are planned at Kidzania in Busan on Oct. 21 and in Seoul on Dec. 1. Transportation, meals and snacks are covered for participants.
In collaboration with the Korea Hanwoo Association, Lotte GRS also provided 970 migrant-background children with vouchers for Lotteria's "Hanwoo bulgogi burger." "We will continue to offer diverse forms of support so that these children can grow into healthy members of Korean society and dream of their own futures," a Lotte GRS official said.
