The Gangnam-gu Council joined residents at the 2026 Gangnam Festival, attending events held along Dosandaero from Saturday through Monday.
Council Speaker Lee Jae-jin and fellow council members took part in the Gangnam Grand Parade along Dosandaero on Saturday, celebrating with residents before joining the family concert that followed.
Joining the opening-day street parade were Speaker Lee Jae-jin, Deputy Speaker Kim Hyeon-jeong, Operations Committee Chair Kang Hyeon-seop, Administrative Safety Committee Chair Lee In-seon, Economic and Urban Committee Chair Song Yeong-gwang, and council members Bok Jin-gyeong, Lee Dong-ho, Lee Sang-ae, Kim Jin-gyeong, U Jong-hyeok, Park Dae-yong, Kim Yun-hui, Han Seong-sun, Lee Jong-won (District Na), Kim Yeong-min, Kim Ji-ung, Yeom Hui-ok, Hwang Tae-hyeon, Lee Jong-won (District Ma), Go Eun-jin, Yun Su-hyeok, Bae Geun-hui, Eun Myeong-ju and No Mi-jin.
The council members walked Dosandaero alongside residents, sharing in the energy of the parade before enjoying the concert that followed.
The event drew about 2,200 attendees, including residents, tourists, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, National Assembly members Seo Myeong-ok, Park Su-min and Go Dong-jin, Gangnam-gu District Mayor Kim Hyeon-gi, and Seoul city council members.
The parade stretched along a 1-kilometer route from Cheongdam Intersection to Dosan Park Intersection. Residents from all 22 dong neighborhoods marched in distinctive costumes and with props reflecting each community's character, drawing on themes of traditional Korean music, family, heritage and the future.
Large character balloons — including Pikachu — along with robots, fashion models and B-boy dancers added to the festive atmosphere.
After the parade, a family concert was held on an outdoor stage set up in the middle of Dosandaero. Singers including Nam Jin, Kim Won-jun, Rula, Lim Chang-jung, Hong Ji-yun, Space A and Hong Gyeong-min performed, lifting the festival atmosphere.
"The smiles and energy of residents filling the streets make the Gangnam Festival shine even brighter," Speaker Lee said. "I hope this becomes a joyful time for whole families to walk and laugh together and discover Gangnam's new charms." He added that the Gangnam-gu Council would continue to work alongside residents to build a vibrant Gangnam where everyone can enjoy culture and festivals as part of daily life.
