200,000 capsules sold in 6 months, prompting additional production
NKGen Biotech Korea said Tuesday that its gut health and body fat management dietary supplement has been posting strong sales.
According to the company, "Slim By 365 Probiotics & Diet," sold under the NK365 brand, sold out its entire initial production run of 200,000 capsules within six months of launch.
Following the sellout, the company has begun additional production and is currently selling its second run. NKGen Biotech Korea attributed the product's popularity to the convenience of managing both gut health and body fat in a single supplement.
Slim By 365 is a multi-functional health supplement combining probiotics and green tea extract. It contains eight probiotic strains formulated with gut health in mind, six of which incorporate patented lactic acid bacteria. The product also includes three prebiotic ingredients — fructooligosaccharides, galactooligosaccharides and xylooligosaccharides — which serve as nutrients for the probiotics.
Probiotics can help promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, suppress harmful bacteria and support bowel regularity. Green tea extract is a functional ingredient that may aid antioxidant activity, body fat reduction and improvement of blood cholesterol levels.
Each daily serving of two capsules contains 10 billion CFU (colony-forming units) of probiotics and 300 milligrams of catechins from green tea extract. The company said the two-capsule daily dose lets consumers take both probiotics and green tea extract together, reducing the need for multiple supplements.
"To build on the sellout of our initial batch into sustained results, we are expanding our sales channels with a focus on our official online store and securing a wider range of retail touchpoints," NKGen Biotech Korea said.
