Tour ran from Sept. 9 to Sept. 29 across all townships
Damyang-gun County Chief Park Jong-won has concluded his community dialogue tour.
Starting in Damyang-eup on Sept. 9, Park visited all 12 townships in succession, listening directly to residents' concerns about local issues and everyday inconveniences and working with them to find solutions.
Particularly in areas that suffered heavy rainfall damage last year, drainage improvements, village road maintenance and the installation of drainage pump stations ranked among the top requests, with flood recovery and disaster prevention dominating the agenda.
Alongside this, residents raised concerns closely tied to daily life, including repairs to agricultural infrastructure and improvements to roads, transportation and the general living environment.
Going beyond the previous format of visiting senior centers, Park strengthened field-based communication by traveling directly to key project sites and residential areas in each township.
He visited sites that had repeatedly suffered heavy rainfall damage, as well as locations for a community hub development project, the Jeungamcheon Park Golf Course, resident self-governance programs and rural renovation projects targeting vulnerable areas, hearing residents' grievances and requests firsthand.
"I was able to get a closer look at the issues each community faces and what residents are hoping for," Park said. "Particularly given the hardships caused by last year's flooding, I will carefully examine what is needed first — from disaster prevention to resolving everyday inconveniences."
