Kim Gyo-young, a business administration professor at Mokpo National University and head of Bourbon Roasting, delivers a special lecture at Gwangju University.

Gwangju University's Department of Business Administration and its Business Consulting Service Center held an entrepreneurship lecture Tuesday on campus, tied to the university's "Philosophy of Entrepreneurial Success" course.

The lecture, themed "From Passion to Value: My Startup Story That Began with Coffee," featured Kim Gyo-young, a business administration professor at Mokpo National University and head of the coffee roasting company Bourbon Roasting.

Kim shared how a personal interest in coffee grew into study and action, eventually leading him to launch a business, telling students that everyday curiosity and ideas can serve as the starting point for new ventures.

He presented several cases in which local agricultural products and cultural resources were incorporated into coffee offerings, including jar-brewed cold brew, Sinan salt coffee, subtropical crop drip packs and olive salt coffee.

"Entrepreneurship is about connecting existing things in new ways to create value for people," Kim said. "When you add learning and action to what you love, that passion can become a future possibility."
