Dongdaemun-gu held the third birth-encouragement project ceremony with the Seoul Dongdaemun Junior Chamber of Commerce on Friday at the plaza in front of the district office, the district said.

The project was designed to raise community awareness about childbirth and child-rearing and to ease the burden on families with newborns.

At the ceremony, the Seoul Dongdaemun Junior Chamber of Commerce presented 320 boxes of diapers to the district for distribution to families with newborns. The diapers will be delivered through local community service centers and other channels.

"We hope this brings even a little comfort to families raising children and helps spread a warm sense of community support for childbirth and parenting," said Lee Hyeon-seo, president of the Seoul Dongdaemun Junior Chamber of Commerce. "We will consistently continue our sharing activities alongside the community."

Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Choi Dong-min thanked the organization for its contribution. "I am deeply grateful to the members of the Seoul Dongdaemun Junior Chamber of Commerce for this heartfelt act of giving for children and parents," Choi said. "I hope the care and support behind these diapers will be a source of strength for families with newborns, and Dongdaemun-gu will work even harder to become a city where it is good to raise children."

The Seoul Dongdaemun Junior Chamber of Commerce has continued its community service activities and consistently supports families with children through its birth-encouragement project.
