Former national team figure skater Kim Yuna credited happiness as the secret behind her unchanged looks and youthful appearance.
The global running event "2026 Run Your Way Seoul 10K Race" was held Sunday at Yeouido Park's Culture Madang in Seoul. Broadcaster No Hong-chul served as MC for the after-concert segment and chatted with Kim on stage.
No was visibly struck the moment he saw Kim in person. He opened by asking how she compared in real life to how she appears on screen. The crowd's enthusiastic reaction to Kim's looks only added to No's excitement, and he made no effort to hide it.
No opened with "Korea's future is bright," then blurted out an expletive-laced compliment telling Kim she was strikingly beautiful, sending the crowd into a stir. He added that he had never used such language before but felt it was not wasted on her.
Caught off guard by the blunt praise, Kim burst out laughing. She fired back with a witty quip — "I'm glad you're standing far away" — drawing another round of laughter from the crowd.
No pressed on, asking what her secret was for maintaining such a consistent appearance over the years.
Kim paused for a moment before answering. "I think it might be living happily," she said.
No followed up by asking what the source of that happiness was. "Is it your loving family? Or your pension? What is it? I wouldn't know — I haven't had those kinds of benefits," he joked, drawing more laughter.
Kim said it likely varies from person to person. "Doesn't it differ for everyone, depending on their own values and outlook?" she said, suggesting that what constitutes happiness differs for each individual.
Kim married Forestella member Ko Woo-rim in 2022. Since then, she has continued to engage with the public through various events and advertisements, consistently drawing attention for her unchanged looks and relaxed demeanor.
