Food and beverage reservation feature added to duty-free app
Information on 202 dining and beverage stores available in one place
Pre-ordering for dine-in available at 64 stores
Seat reservations at full-service restaurants and lounge pass purchases also supported
Incheon International Airport has launched a mobile service that lets travelers browse information on about 202 food and beverage stores inside the airport, reserve seats and complete payment before they arrive. Passengers can order meals in advance based on their route through the terminal, cutting wait times and improving convenience.
Incheon International Airport Corp. announced Tuesday it has introduced and begun operating the service through its integrated duty-free mobile app, "Incheon Airport Duty-Free." Users can access it via the "F&B+" menu at the bottom of the app, where they can view menus, prices and locations for all roughly 202 food and beverage stores in the airport at a glance.
The service offers several functions depending on the store. At 77 locations, travelers can order and pay via the app and pick up their food to go. Sixty-four stores support mobile pre-ordering for dine-in meals, while seven full-service restaurants allow advance seat reservations. Passes for nine participating airport lounges can also be purchased directly through the app.
The process is straightforward. At a dessert store on the third floor of Terminal 2's general zone, for example, passengers can pay for a doughnut or coffee on their phone in advance and pick it up on the spot once they receive a ready notification. Those dining at Terminal 1 can search food categories and prices in the dining zone, select a menu and reserve a table at a participating restaurant ahead of time.
The airport also expanded support for international travelers. In line with a recent rise in visitors to Korea, Japanese-language service has been added on top of the existing English and Chinese options.
Kim Chang-gyu, head of operations at Incheon International Airport Corp., said the new service would not only improve the dining experience for all passengers but also help introduce Korean food to foreign visitors. "We will continue to actively roll out a variety of new services that can make a real difference in passenger convenience," he said.
