Namyang Dairy Products' Cheonan factory announced Tuesday it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Cheonan branch and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's South Chungcheong Province headquarters to prevent industrial accidents and promote a culture of workplace safety.

The signing ceremony was held Friday at the Namyang Dairy Products Cheonan New Factory in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. Attendees included Kim Se-jong, plant manager of the Cheonan factory; Jeon Jun-hyeon, head of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Cheonan branch; and Kim Jin-young, head of the industrial health division at the agency's South Chungcheong Province headquarters.

Under the agreement, the Cheonan factory will print workplace safety slogans — including "Keep my workplace safe, be happier tomorrow" — on the side panels of its 900-milliliter "Grade 1 Achime Milk" packaging. About 1.05 million packs will be produced and distributed over approximately two months.

The three parties will cooperate on spreading safety messages at industrial sites, running joint campaigns, supporting accident prevention and safety management at workplaces, and sharing best practices in safety culture. Within the Cheonan industrial complex, they plan to distribute promotional materials featuring the safety slogans. Best practices will also be shared through the Cheonan-Asan and Dangjin-Yesan safety managers' councils, social media, and the Safety Culture Practice Promotion Committee's website.

Namyang Dairy Products had earlier signed similar agreements with the labor ministry's local branches covering its Sejong and Gyeongju factories, running safety culture campaigns using product packaging and on-site slogans. The company is also strengthening its workplace safety and health management systems, backed by ISO 45001 certification.

"We are joining hands with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Cheonan branch and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's South Chungcheong Province headquarters to spread a culture of safety in workplaces and everyday life," Kim Se-jong said. "We will continue to build a safe and healthy working environment through on-site safety management and a wide range of practical activities."
