Yangcheon-gu will hold its "2026 Second-Half Urban Renewal Knowledge Forum" in line with the full-scale push for redevelopment and reconstruction projects in the district, aiming to deepen residents' understanding of urban renewal and support smooth project implementation.

The forum is a resident-participation education program designed to provide information and expert knowledge on the full range of renewal projects, address residents' questions, strengthen the expertise of project stakeholders, and minimize disputes and trial-and-error along the way.

This year's forum will cover key procedures and practical operations at each stage of the renewal process. Specialists in each field will use real-world cases to explain the critical checkpoints and precautions at every stage, with the goal of building genuine understanding among residents and project stakeholders.

The curriculum is structured to give participants a systematic grasp of the practical knowledge needed to advance renewal projects. Sessions will cover the contractor selection process and how to read project proposals, integrated deliberation and project implementation plan approval procedures, key provisions of the reconstruction excess-profit recovery system and how to respond to them, and pre-sale application procedures and case studies for both reconstruction and redevelopment projects.

The forum runs every Tuesday from Oct. 20 to Nov. 10, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., for a total of four sessions at Haenuri Hall on the second floor of Haenuri Town.

Any resident with an interest in urban renewal projects — including project stakeholders — is welcome to attend, with 250 spots available per session. Registration opens Tuesday and runs through Oct. 16, either online via QR code or in person at the Urban Development Promotion Division.

The district plans to post key educational content from the forum on its official YouTube channel, "Yangcheon TV," so residents who cannot attend in person can still access and use the material.

Yangcheon-gu has held the urban renewal knowledge forum twice a year — every spring and fall — since 2023 to deepen residents' understanding and support smooth project implementation. To date, approximately 6,100 people have participated, drawing a strong public response.

"I hope this forum will serve as a meaningful venue for communication — one that deepens residents' understanding of renewal projects and offers real, practical help in moving them forward," Yangcheon-gu District Mayor Lee Gi-jae said. "We will continue to provide active support so that renewal projects can proceed smoothly and stably, ultimately creating a more comfortable residential environment."
