A 7-year-old boy fell to his death from an apartment in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.

At around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the boy, identified only as A, fell from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Geomo-dong, Siheung.

He was found in cardiac arrest and taken to a nearby hospital after receiving emergency treatment, but he did not survive.

His parents were out at the time, and the boy had been home with a sibling, according to police.

Police are treating the incident as an accidental fall, based on family statements that the boy had a habit of sitting on window frames, and are investigating the exact circumstances.

"We plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the precise cause of death," a police official said.
