Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, announced Monday that the 2026 Yeongcheon Joint Festival, held Friday through Sunday at Yeongcheon Riverside Park, concluded successfully to enthusiastic responses from residents and tourists alike.

This year's joint festival brought together four separate events under one umbrella: the 52nd Yeongcheon Culture and Arts Festival, the 24th Yeongcheon Korean Medicine Festival, the 14th Yeongcheon Wine Festa and the Starlight Hanwoo Grilling Festival.

Throughout the festival, visitors enjoyed a wide range of programs — from cultural and arts activities open to public participation, to health experience sessions, Yeongcheon wine tastings and grilling events featuring locally raised Starlight Hanwoo beef.

The Culture and Arts Festival offered citizen participation programs including pungmul and nanta percussion competitions, a pumbba festival and folk games organized by neighborhood, alongside various exhibitions.

The final day of the festival was capped by the main stage of the 30th National Wang-pyeong Song Festival. Park Jae-in claimed the grand prize with a passionate rendition of "Annyeong."

The Korean Medicine Festival drew families with a range of health and wellness programs run in partnership with Daegu Haany University, including a K-MEDI health experience zone, wellness sessions and a Korean medicinal cuisine food zone.

The Wine Festa attracted visitors with offerings from 11 local wineries, each showcasing wines that reflected the distinct character of their farms.

At the Starlight Hanwoo Grilling Festival, all four tons of Yeongcheon Starlight Hanwoo beef prepared for the event — valued at about 150 million won ($110,000) — sold out, reflecting strong demand from attendees.

"Through this joint festival, we were able to showcase Yeongcheon's diverse charms — culture and arts, Korean medicine, wine and Hanwoo beef — all in one place for residents and tourists," Yeongcheon Mayor Kim Byeong-sam said. "I am grateful to everyone who visited the festival grounds and celebrated with us."

The autumn festival spirit now moves from Yeongcheon Riverside Park to Bohyeonsan.

Yeongcheon will host the 23rd Yeongcheon Bohyeonsan Starlight Festival at the Bohyeonsan Astronomical Science Museum from Oct. 9 through Oct. 11, continuing the city's run of October autumn events.
