Seoul Metropolitan Government expands special discount event to Han River delivery zones
3,000-won coupon available on orders of 25,000 won or more
Online gift voucher rebate raised from 5% to 10%
Starting this month, Seoul residents who use the Seoul Delivery+ Ddaenggyeoyo app can receive a 3,000-won discount on food deliveries at Han River parks, while also enjoying doubled gift voucher rebates on regular delivery and takeout orders.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced Sunday that it will run a special discount event at 17 delivery zones across 11 Han River parks through Nov. 30. The event began Thursday.
Through the end of the year, the cashback rate on online Seoul Love Gift Vouchers will be raised from 5 percent to 10 percent, and the monthly purchase limit per person will be increased from 300,000 won ($221) to 500,000 won.
The special discount expands on an earlier event held in August at three parks — Yeouido, Ttukseom and Mangwon — and now covers all 17 delivery zones across 11 Han River parks.
Users who set their delivery location to one of the participating Han River park delivery zones on the Ddaenggyeoyo app and place an order of 25,000 won or more will immediately receive a 3,000-won discount coupon applicable to that order.
Customers who pay with Seoul Love Gift Vouchers can also receive an additional rebate on the 14th of the following month. Those who spend 15,000 won or more will get back 3,000 won, while those who spend 25,000 won or more will receive 5,000 won — both returned as delivery-only gift vouchers around mid-month.
For everyday delivery and takeout orders, customers can cut costs by using online Seoul Love Gift Vouchers, which are sold at a 10 percent discount. Payments made through Seoul Delivery+ Ddaenggyeoyo will also earn a 10 percent cashback rebate, credited on the 20th of the following month through the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Ddaenggyeoyo surpassed 3 million Seoul members in July and this month crossed 10 million cumulative members nationwide. To mark the milestone, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and operator Shinhan Bank are holding a series of consumer events offering gift vouchers and discount coupons, along with support for affiliated merchants.
The city is running a giveaway on the Seoul Pay Plus official Instagram account, drawing 300 winners from users who leave congratulatory comments to receive Ddaenggyeoyo gift vouchers. Shinhan Bank is also running a promotion in which customers who leave a store review after placing an order can receive a discount coupon, with a lottery offering prizes of up to 1 million won ($736).
Shinhan Bank will provide a certification badge and a 100,000-won support grant to the top 1,000 merchant stores by customer referrals. It will also waive brokerage fees entirely for newly registered merchants through the end of this year.
"We have put together discount and rebate benefits so that citizens can feel a real reduction in dining costs — whether on a Han River outing or in their everyday delivery and takeout orders," said Park Gyeong-hwan, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Livelihood and Labor Bureau.
