Song Da-bin of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Sports Council claimed the top of the podium at her first Asian Games, giving South Korea's taekwondo kyorugi team its first gold medal of the competition.

Song defeated Wu Yuanze of China 2-1 on round scores in the women's taekwondo kyorugi over-67kg final Saturday at Toyohashi General Gymnasium in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

It was South Korea's first gold in the weight class since Lee Da-bin won at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games eight years ago. With Lee's 2018 gold and a silver at the 2022 Hangzhou Games — held in 2023 — South Korea has now medaled in the division at three consecutive Asian Games.

The victory extended South Korea's taekwondo kyorugi gold medal streak to 10 consecutive Asian Games, dating back to the sport's debut as an official event at the 1986 Seoul Games.

The win was South Korea's third gold of the current Games in taekwondo, following Yun Gyu-seong and Jeong Ha-eun in the men's and women's individual poomsae events.
