Gangnam-gu Council Speaker Lee Jae-jin and council members Lee Jong-won and Yeom Hui-ok met Thursday with leaders of Florida's Korean American associations at the Gangnam-gu Council to discuss ways to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two regions.

Florida United Korean Association President Shin Gwang-su, South Florida Korean Association President Steve Seo and Tampa (West Florida) Korean Association President Kang Seon-i attended the meeting. Participants exchanged views on expanding ties between Gangnam-gu and the Florida Korean American community, potential areas of mutual cooperation and a planned US visit by the Gangnam-gu Council.

"I am grateful for the Florida Korean American leaders' visit," Speaker Lee said. "I hope this visit will deepen the relationship between Gangnam-gu and the Florida Korean American associations and invigorate exchanges between both sides."
