Submissions open Oct. 1–30; purse totals 4.9 million won, with grand prize of 2.5 million won
"Show us the hidden charms of Dongducheon!"
Dongducheon is holding the "2026 Dongducheon Video Contest: Play Dongducheon!" to uncover and promote the city's lesser-known attractions through short films.
The contest is open to anyone regardless of age or place of residence. Participants may submit videos showcasing any aspect of the city's appeal — local festivals, tourist destinations, natural scenery or hands-on events.
Entries must run between one and three minutes and may be filmed in either landscape or portrait orientation. AI-generated footage is permitted but may not exceed 20 percent of the total running time or 30 seconds, whichever is shorter.
Participants must post their video publicly on their own Instagram or YouTube account, then submit the application form, supporting documents and the original video file to the contest coordinator by email. The submission window runs from Thursday through Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.
A panel of judges will select 10 winning entries. The total purse is 4.9 million won ($3,610): the grand prize carries 2.5 million won, the top excellence award 1 million won, the excellence award 700,000 won, and seven encouragement prizes of 100,000 won each.
Winning videos will be used in future tourism and cultural promotions as well as other city communications materials.
Full details and application forms are available on the Dongducheon city website. Inquiries may be directed to the Media Team of the Public Relations and Future Planning Division.
