A photo of a notice at a convenience store pleading with customers not to dispose of dog waste in its trash bins has drawn widespread attention online.
The image was posted Tuesday to FM Korea, a popular online community, under the title "Latest news from the convenience store in front of my apartment."
The photo shows a storage cabinet housing the store's trash bins, bearing a standard "no outside food waste" sign alongside a handwritten message reading, "Please, please do not throw away dog poop here."
The person who posted the photo expressed disbelief, writing, "I never could have imagined anyone throwing dog poop in a convenience store trash can," and adding, "How many times must it have happened for them to resort to the word 'please'?"
Commenters reacted with a mix of exasperation and dark humor. "It's not for nothing that street trash cans keep disappearing," one user wrote. Others chimed in: "There really are a lot of unhinged people out there"; "You see it a lot at unmanned ATM kiosks too"; "Unmanned ice cream shops have the same warning signs"; "Truly uncivilized"; "It defies imagination."
