Product part of 'High Five Sharing Project'
5% of consumer price donated with each sale
Funds support pediatric patients at Samsung Medical Center
Sales of the Beautyrest Edison, the flagship product in Simmons' ESG (environmental, social and governance) initiative, have risen since the program launched.
According to Simmons, Super Single-size Beautyrest Edison sales climbed about 40 percent year-on-year in the roughly three months from June, when the company launched the "High Five Sharing Project," through the end of August.
Sales in August alone surged about 60 percent compared with the same period last year. Simmons said the pace of growth accelerated in August ahead of the new school semester, with the monthly gain of 60 percent running 20 percentage points above the 40 percent cumulative increase recorded over the June-to-August period.
Under the High Five Sharing Project, 5 percent of the consumer price is set aside as a donation each time a Super Single-size Beautyrest Edison is sold. The accumulated donations go toward treating pediatric and adolescent patients at Samsung Medical Center and improving the environment of its pediatric center. The Edison is a steady-selling model within Beautyrest, Simmons' flagship mattress collection, and the project applies exclusively to the Super Single size.
The initiative follows the "Beautyrest 1925" ESG bed project Simmons introduced in 2023. Over roughly two years, more than 3,000 units sold under that program, raising more than 600 million won ($442,000) in donations. The funds went to Samsung Medical Center and were used to remodel its pediatric center and improve the treatment environment for young patients. The High Five Sharing Project continues that donation-linked model.
Meanwhile, a promotional video titled "I'm Your Springman," released to raise awareness of the project, has surpassed 1 million views. The video follows a girl undergoing medical treatment who meets "Springman," a character living inside a mattress, and joins him on visits to school, a playground and other everyday places as she rediscovers the small joys of daily life.
