2026 WRC season finale
Held Thursday through Sunday in Alghero, Sardinia
Hankook Tire supplies tires exclusively across all WRC classes
Hankook Tire & Technology announced Thursday that the Italy Sardinia Rally — the season finale of the 2026 World Rally Championship, sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile — is underway in the Alghero area of Sardinia through Sunday. Hankook Tire serves as the exclusive tire supplier for the series.
The Sardinia Rally is a storied gravel event now in its 23rd edition. It takes on added significance this year after the Saudi Arabia Rally was dropped from the WRC calendar, making the Sardinian round the final chapter of the 2026 season.
The event spans 17 special stages on unpaved roads covering approximately 307.02 kilometers. Narrow, winding tracks lined with trees and dense brush, combined with blind crests that limit visibility, make the course unforgiving — even minor errors can have serious consequences.
Hankook Tire is supplying its extreme all-weather rally tire, the Dynapro R213, in both hard and soft EMC compounds for the event. The Dynapro R213 absorbs the heavy impacts of gravel surfaces while delivering stable grip and precise handling at high speeds, allowing drivers to extract the full performance of both their vehicles and their own skill.
At Round 12, the Rally Chile, Oliver Solberg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team claimed his second victory of the season, following his earlier win at the Monte Carlo Rally.
The result allowed Toyota to clinch the manufacturers' championship for the 2026 season ahead of schedule, securing the team's sixth consecutive title since 2021 and its 10th overall. With the manufacturers' title decided, the drivers' championship will be settled at the season finale in Sardinia.
Hankook Tire supplies racing tires exclusively across all WRC classes, continuing to demonstrate its motorsport technology credentials at the highest level of the sport.
Meanwhile, Hankook Tire recently won two awards at the 2026 IDEA Design Awards, organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America, further affirming its competitiveness in industrial design.
