Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance hosted a fan meet-and-greet with golf legend Choi Kyung-ju ahead of the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyung-ju Invitational.

The company said Thursday it had invited 10 golf fans — selected through a prior story submission drive — to Ferum Club on Wednesday, the day before the tournament opened.

Choi drew on questions submitted in advance to share his experiences on tour life, golf and life in general. KPGA Tour player Lee Dong-hwan and defending champion Jeon Ga-ram also attended and spoke with fans.

Choi personally checked each participant's grip and offered on-the-spot coaching on proper technique. A group photo followed the event.

"It was a truly wonderful time for me as well, getting to meet fans in person, hear their golf stories and share in the conversation," Choi said. "I hope what we talked about today stays with everyone as a fond memory that makes golf even more enjoyable."

The Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyung-ju Invitational runs Thursday through Sunday at Ferum Country Club's East and West courses. A field of 126 players will compete for a purse of 1.25 billion won ($920,000).
