Paris Croissant announced Thursday that it has designated Kang Shin-bong, former head of Samsung Electronics' Direct-to-Consumer Center and executive vice president, as its new CEO. Kang's appointment is subject to formal approval by the board of directors.
Kang is a seasoned executive with broad experience across strategy, platform, consumer and global operations, having worked at Boston Consulting Group, eBay, Yogiyo and Samsung Electronics. At Samsung Electronics, he served as head of the Global Marketing Office's D2C (Direct to Consumer) Center, where he led strategy and innovation for the company's global D2C operations. He particularly focused on expanding customer touchpoints and leveraging data to enhance customer experience and marketing.
Drawing on that experience, Kang plans to drive innovation and structural upgrades at Paris Croissant, while identifying new business opportunities and future growth engines to build a foundation for sustained growth.
"Kang is an executive with broad management experience spanning consumer, platform and global businesses, as well as strong change-management capabilities," a Paris Croissant official said. "We expect him to strengthen the competitiveness of our existing operations through customer- and market-driven innovation, while expanding our future growth foundation and leading Paris Croissant to a new chapter."
