Korean Air and Asiana Airlines announced Thursday they are hosting a "2026 Parents Invitation Event" for a combined 240 employees and their parents. The event kicked off with its first session on Wednesday and will continue with two more — on Oct. 20 and Nov. 12 — with 80 participants per session.

The event was designed to let parents experience their children's workplace firsthand by touring key facilities, including the cabin training center, flight training institute and maintenance hangar, with the aim of deepening their trust in and pride for the company. This year, Asiana Airlines employees and their families joined for the first time, adding significance to the occasion as a symbol of the two carriers' ongoing integration.

At the first session on Wednesday, families from both airlines toured the headquarters and explored a range of facilities. At the cabin training center, they took part in fire-suppression drills and practiced operating aircraft doors. At the flight training institute, they got a close look at full-flight simulators that replicate real cockpit conditions. The maintenance hangar tour, conducted as an immersive on-site walkthrough, drew particular praise for bringing the work environment to life.

After the facility tours, participants gathered in the headquarters cafeteria for a specially prepared lunch. They then tried on cabin crew and flight crew uniforms and took commemorative photos. All attendees received printed family portraits taken at a photo zone, along with miniature aircraft models as keepsakes.

"This event is a meaningful occasion for employees and families from both airlines to come together, strengthen their sense of belonging and deepen the bonds that will carry us through integration," a Korean Air official said. "We will continue to develop a wide range of programs to build a family-friendly corporate culture and create a happier workplace."

Meanwhile, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines have been carrying out various corporate social responsibility initiatives, including a recent aviation career lecture for about 60 fifth- and sixth-grade students at Jangchon Elementary School in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
