Applications open through Oct. 21
Recipients to be selected in December after review and site inspections
Group aims to expand social contributions into mobility tech
Hankook & announced Thursday that it is accepting applications from social welfare facilities across the country to participate in its 2026 vehicle-sharing program, which provides vehicles for people with limited mobility.
In line with the group's mobility tech-oriented approach to corporate social responsibility, the program will feature the Staria EV — an eco-friendly electric vehicle — as its primary model, alongside school buses for children and vehicles equipped with wheelchair lifts, reflecting the diverse transportation needs of welfare facilities.
The program is run in partnership with ChildFund Korea and is open to organizations that provide welfare services to mobility-disadvantaged groups. Interested organizations can apply through Oct. 21 via the notices section of the ChildFund Korea website.
The group will select recipients by December following a document review, an external expert evaluation and on-site inspections. Each selected organization will receive one vehicle, delivered sequentially according to the production schedule.
The vehicle-sharing program, which Hankook & launched in 2008, has provided a cumulative total of 682 vehicles, including this year's planned donations.
Last year, the group introduced "Vehicle Sharing 2.0," which provides vehicles to low-income households and links recipients to a car-sharing platform to help them achieve financial independence. This year, the group is running both the original program — aimed at improving mobility for welfare facility users — and Vehicle Sharing 2.0 in parallel.
Hankook & conducts a range of social contribution activities under its integrated ESG brand "Driving Forward, Together," including the vehicle-sharing program, battery donations for electric mobility aids and the installation of child traffic-safety facilities.
"We hope this vehicle support will make a real difference in the daily lives of neighbors who struggle with mobility," a Hankook & official said. "We will expand our mobility-based social contributions into the mobility tech space and, further, align them with the group's high-tech direction to create a differentiated social value unique to Hankook &."
Meanwhile, Hankook & recently held a "knowledge-sharing session" at its Technoplex headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, where it shared organizational culture practices from Hankook Donggeurami Partners — a subsidiary-type standard workplace for people with disabilities — with its employees, as part of its broader efforts to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities.
