More than 30 wines and whiskies available for tasting; advance reservations open Friday
E-mart will host a wine and whisky tasting event, Wine Grab Festa, in partnership with Hyundai Card from Oct. 16 to 18 at the Hyundai Card Cooking Library in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Visitors can sample more than 30 varieties of wine and whisky at the event. Any bottles tried on-site can be ordered through Wine Grab, E-mart's liquor pickup service, and collected at E-mart or Traders stores. Some items will be available at special discounted prices when paid for with a Hyundai Card.
Attendees will receive a welcome gift package — a limited-edition reusable bag containing hangover remedies and chocolates. A range of participatory events and prize giveaways will also be held.
Cultural programming includes a live performance by jazz artist Luca Minor, a DJ set by DJ Jeonjaman, and a talk concert featuring composer Kim Hyung-seok and singer Han Hae.
Advance reservations open Friday and run through Monday, with a second window from Wednesday through Oct. 14. Bookings can be made through the E-mart app, where visitors select their preferred date, time and number of guests.
Wine Grab, launched in 2019, lets customers order wine and whisky through the E-mart app and pick up their purchases at E-mart and Traders stores nationwide. Following a revamp last November, the service expanded its lineup to include sake and baijiu and bolstered its information features, including Vivino ratings.
Since the revamp, sales through August have roughly tripled compared with the same period a year earlier. The number of users surpassed 600,000 as of the end of last month. Users in their 20s jumped by 1.5 times, the strongest growth of any age group.
E-mart said it planned the event to deliver a differentiated experience by combining Wine Grab's expertise in liquor with Hyundai Card's track record in operating brand spaces. The strategy is to broaden brand engagement and strengthen loyalty among VIP customers through an experiential event that blends tasting with culture.
"Through this collaboration between E-mart and Hyundai Card, we will continue working to offer our customers a wide range of experiences and benefits," said Jeong Yang-o, head of E-mart's strategic marketing division.
