Songpa-gu in Seoul will present its October regular performance, the "Songpa Autumn Jazz Concert," at the Art Hall of Songpa Cultural Arts Center on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
Hosted by Songpa-gu and organized by the Songpa Cultural Foundation, the concert will feature Big Mama's Lee Ji-young alongside a jazz quartet. Vocals, saxophone, piano, bass and drums will come together to deliver a rich and mellow jazz performance.
The setlist will include Lee Ji-young's original songs "Saranghagi Joeun Gyejeol" ("A Season Good for Love") and "Yeohaengeul Tteonaja" ("Let's Go on a Trip"), alongside classic jazz standards and a lyrical arrangement of the popular song "Geuriuumman Ssaigine" ("Only Longing Piles Up") — all chosen to evoke the mood of autumn.
A particular highlight of the concert is Lee Ji-young's contralto voice — the lowest vocal range among women and a rare quality in any performer. Her deep, refined tone is expected to captivate audiences with its quiet elegance.
The concert is free and open to all Songpa-gu residents. Registration opens Friday at 11 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis through Naver Reservations. Attendees must present a physical photo ID confirming their Songpa-gu residency when picking up tickets at the venue.
