Gangseo-gu held a job fair Wednesday at Seoul Startup Hub mPlus, connecting job seekers directly with company recruiters and offering on-the-spot hiring support.
Human resources managers from participating companies provided information on the skills and qualifications each firm was looking for, while conducting on-site interviews throughout the day.
Twenty-nine companies took part, spanning fields drawing attention as core technologies of the future — artificial intelligence, robotics and aviation.
Job seekers streamed into company booths from early in the morning, with attendees ranging from young adults to middle-aged professionals.
Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon visited the fair in person, touring company booths and taking part in various programs, signaling strong commitment to employment support.
The venue was divided into three zones: a hiring zone where 26 companies conducted one-on-one interviews; a consulting zone offering resume-writing guidance and other job-search support; and a career lecture zone featuring talks aimed at helping middle-aged attendees launch a second chapter in their careers.
A youth meet-up session drew particularly strong turnout, with every seat filled as current employees from LG Science Park, Robotis and air-cargo firm Air Zeta shared firsthand accounts of their work.
One attendee, surnamed Lee, who said her goal was to land a job in the aviation industry, described the event as a chance to gather information through direct conversations with industry insiders. "It gave me a lot of information and boosted my confidence," she said.
Beyond recruitment, the fair also offered a range of supplementary programs — professional headshots for resumes, personal color consultations and ear therapy sessions for stress relief.
"I hope job seekers use this opportunity to gather hiring information and sharpen their employment strategies, while companies find the right talent for their needs," Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin said. "We will do our utmost not just to connect companies and job seekers, but to strengthen job seekers' capabilities through a wide range of employment support programs."
