Policy specialists with financial regulator experience moved to front line
Lee Jae-hyuk promoted to policy vice chairman; Kang Kyung-jin elevated to executive managing director
Association vows expanded support for members, proactive response to regulatory shifts
The Korea Listed Companies Association announced Wednesday a round of executive and team leader promotions, effective Thursday.
The reshuffle focuses on deepening the organization's understanding of the business environment and regulatory changes surrounding listed companies, placing personnel with strong expertise in corporate policy and capital market systems into key positions.
Lee Jae-hyuk, a managing director who built an extensive practical track record and policy network through secondments to the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service, was promoted to policy vice chairman. Kang Kyung-jin, a specialist in accounting and taxation, was elevated from senior director to executive managing director.
The association also filled out its executive ranks with Kim Sung-hyun, a senior director with expertise in education and training, and Kim Chun, a senior director well versed in commercial law and capital markets law, to strengthen tailored support for member companies and legal capabilities.
Through the reshuffle, the association said it plans to sharpen its ability to respond to policy changes affecting businesses, expand support for pressing issues member companies face on the ground, and actively relay members' views to regulators and related agencies to ease the practical difficulties companies encounter amid regulatory shifts.
"Through this reshuffle, we have laid the groundwork for a specialized organization capable of responding proactively to a changing business environment," Chairman Min Dong-wook said. "We will continue to faithfully fulfill the association's role in promoting the sound development of listed companies and the capital market."
The association also recently published an operational manual for electronic shareholder meetings ahead of the mandatory e-shareholder meeting system taking effect next year. The manual covers the legal basis and general principles for preparing electronic shareholder meetings, attendance verification and voting procedures, fairness-enhancement measures for day-of operations and technical requirements, protocols for handling emergencies such as communication failures, and standards for record retention, storage and access.
