Popular content creator Nitmolcash, whose real name is Cha Jeong-il, has acknowledged dating violence allegations that surfaced recently.

His agency, NOB Entertainment, said in a statement Tuesday that it had verified the facts with the creator after posts about him appeared online. "In the process of verification, we confirmed that there were inappropriate words and actions on the part of the individual mentioned in the posts," the agency said.

The agency said it views the matter seriously and has decided, in consultation with the creator, to suspend all of his activities. It added that it is working with partners to take necessary follow-up measures regarding previously scheduled advertisements and content.

"Above all, we sincerely apologize to those who were harmed by his actions," the agency said, and went on to say it also apologized to fans who had supported the creator and to all parties involved.

Earlier, a woman identified only as A, who said she was Nitmolcash's former girlfriend, alleged on social media that she had suffered dating violence during their relationship, including abusive language. An audio recording she released was reported to contain the voice of a man believed to be Nitmolcash using profanity.

Nitmolcash is a prominent creator with 550,000 YouTube subscribers and 560,000 Instagram followers, known for gaining wide popularity alongside comedian Tanaka, whose real name is Kim Gyeong-uk, through the show "Jalja-yo Agassi." Following the controversy, Nitmolcash shut down all of his social media accounts.
