Customers who buy used items on Karrot on Oct. 10 can ship them by courier at no cost for up to five transactions. CJ Logistics will handle delivery for Karrot's first annual used-goods sale event, dubbed "Karrot Day."

CJ Logistics announced Tuesday that it will serve as the exclusive delivery partner for Karrot's "Buy Now" purchases on Oct. 10.

Customers using Buy Now that day will not have to pay delivery fees for up to five orders per person. The discount is applied automatically at checkout with no coupon required. However, the promotion may end early if the allocated benefits run out.

Buy Now is a service that allows Karrot users to receive items by courier without meeting the seller in person. Once a seller requests a shipment, a CJ Logistics courier picks up the item and delivers it to the buyer.

Deliveries will be handled through O-NE, CJ Logistics' seven-days-a-week delivery service. The arrangement connects Karrot's used-goods marketplace — previously centered on in-person neighborhood transactions — to a courier network that lets users trade with people in other parts of the country.

The delivery partnership between CJ Logistics and Karrot began with the launch of the Buy Now service in September last year. The service has since expanded in stages, going nationwide in March.

Since the nationwide rollout, Buy Now transaction volume has posted double-digit monthly growth. The free delivery promotion is expected to further boost trade in lower-priced used goods, where shipping costs had previously been a significant deterrent.

"We expect the Karrot Day promotion to let more customers experience CJ Logistics' convenient delivery service," a CJ Logistics official said. "We will continue to introduce differentiated person-to-person delivery services through lifestyle logistics innovation and improve customer convenience."
