Seongju-gun in North Gyeongsang Province will relocate its intercity bus terminal from the current temporary bus stop to the bus hall at the Creativity and Culture Center starting Thursday, the county announced Monday.
The temporary bus stop has drawn persistent complaints from passengers due to its location on the outskirts of town, with additional inconveniences such as ticketing machine malfunctions.
In response, Seongju-gun has been pursuing the relocation to improve connectivity with other modes of transport such as buses and taxis, enhance passenger convenience and achieve more efficient terminal operations.
Intercity buses bound for Seoul will operate on the Hapcheon–Goryeong–Seongju–Seoul Nambu Terminal route, running twice daily on weekdays and three times daily on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
"By moving the intercity bus terminal to the Creativity and Culture Center hall, we will improve convenience for bus passengers, promote greater use of public transportation and build a Seongju that is comfortable to live in and easy to get around," Seongju-gun County Mayor Jeon Hwa-sik said.
