Shinsegae to run store-specific fashion and pop-up events

Hyundai to hold wedding fair with double loyalty points

South Korea's major department stores are launching their fall regular sales simultaneously, with a range of events planned alongside the shopping promotions.

Lotte Department Store will hold its fall regular sale at all locations from Thursday through Oct. 11, offering discounts of up to 40 percent on participating brand products. On weekends, customers will receive Lotte gift certificates worth 5 to 10 percent of their purchase amount.

On Oct. 9 and Oct. 16, the store will offer first-come, first-served 5 percent discount coupons for sports, leisure and golf products through its mobile app.

Alongside the sale, Lotte Department Store will run "Lotte Active Week," a sports and outdoor-themed event, at all its department stores, shopping malls and outlet locations from Thursday through Oct. 18.

The outdoor plaza at Lotte Mall Gimpo Airport — known as Sky Park — will host the "Lotte Active Festival" on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10. The event will feature hands-on programs, with Lotte gift certificates and discount coupons awarded on a first-come, first-served basis based on participation. A picnic zone for rest and an outdoor cinema screening sports films in the evening are also planned.

An outdoor yoga class led by a professional instructor and a "night camping" program in Indian-style tents will also be offered during evening hours. Registrations for both programs open Thursday on a first-come, first-served basis through the Lotte Culture Center website.

Stores in Incheon, Nowon, Pyeongchon and Dongtan will offer outdoor activity classes from Oct. 9 to Oct. 18 in partnership with brands including Nepa, Andar, Xexymix and Brompton London.

On Oct. 18, Lotte will hold its eighth annual running event, the "2026 Style Run," around the Lotte Town Jamsil area. This year, the event will debut a hybrid sports challenge called "Day Out" alongside the run.

More than 300 brands will participate across women's and men's fashion, street fashion, sports, children's goods, accessories and lifestyle categories, with discounts of up to 60 percent.

Customers who spend 600,000 won or more at a single brand in a single day using a partner credit card will receive a 30,000 won discount coupon, while those spending 200,000 won or more will receive a 10,000 won coupon.

Through Oct. 5, customers who purchase 2 million won or more from a single brand in the luxury, watch or jewelry categories using a partner card will be eligible for a Shinbaek Reward gift event. Reward points of 140,000, 210,000, 350,000 and 700,000 will be given for purchases of 2 million won, 3 million won, 5 million won and 10 million won or more, respectively.

The open stage on the first floor of the Gangnam branch will host a pop-up store for "Jump Shop," the official retail outlet of Japanese manga publisher Shueisha, through Oct. 6. A pop-up for contemporary fashion brand Low Classic will run from Oct. 2 to Oct. 13, and a pop-up for children's knitwear brand The Loha will run from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12.

The Centum City branch will feature women's clothing brand Miseki Seoul from Oct. 5 to Oct. 18. A pop-up for premium stroller brand Egg will run from Oct. 8 to Oct. 15. At the main branch, artist Park Sun-ki's exhibition "THE ORIGIN OF SPACE" is on display through Oct. 19 in the fourth-floor gallery and fifth-floor garden of The Heritage.

The Pangyo branch will host a beauty festival from Oct. 2 to Oct. 8 in the first basement-floor event hall, organized jointly with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. The event will offer hair, body and skincare products from 48 brands — including Idruru, Doing What and Shuelo — at discounts of up to 70 percent.

During the same period, the Mokdong branch will hold a golf fair in its first basement-floor event hall, featuring seven brands including Master Bunny Edition, FootJoy and J.Lindeberg, with golf apparel and footwear discounted by up to 70 percent.

A wedding fair targeting members of the "Club Wedding" membership program will run at all branches from Oct. 2 to Oct. 18. Customers who purchase luxury goods, watches or jewelry during the event will earn wedding mileage points at double the standard rate.

Individual branches have also prepared cultural events. The first floor of The Hyundai Seoul will host a "Joseon Haute Couture" parade every Saturday and Sunday, with 24 performers dressed in royal court attire marching through the luxury boutiques on the ground floor.

On Saturday, a jazz performance will be held at Epi One on the 10th floor of the Trade Center branch. On Sunday, a paper airplane throwing contest will take place at the Sky Garden on the 10th floor of the Kintex branch.

"As the cool autumn weather draws more people out, this event lets customers enjoy a wide range of discounts and diverse cultural content all in one place," a Hyundai Department Store official said.
