A woman in her 70s was stabbed at a villa in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The suspect, a man in his 50s who worked as the woman's driver, was arrested at the scene as police investigate the motive and circumstances of the attack.

According to Yonhap and police, a report came in Saturday around 11 a.m. that a woman in her 70s, identified only as A, had been found collapsed after being stabbed at a villa in Sudong-myeon, Namyangju.

A was transported to a hospital and is receiving treatment. Police arrested a man in his 50s, identified as B, at the scene on charges of attempted murder.

A's husband, who had been on the second floor at the time, reportedly heard screaming and came downstairs to find her collapsed, then called for help.

The couple had been staying at the villa for the Chuseok holiday, and B is believed to have been their driver.

Police are questioning B to determine the specific motive and full circumstances of the attack.
