Uiseong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Wednesday that Gigyeong F&B, a partner company, distributed processed Uiseong garlic products as chuseok gifts to franchise locations of its three brands — Dujjim, Tteokcharm and Gigyeong Soot-bul Dumari Chicken — to help boost consumption of local agricultural specialties.
Uiseong-gun and Gigyeong F&B signed an MOU in August to promote local agricultural product consumption and pursue mutual growth.
The two sides have been expanding the market for local produce through garlic-based products, building a cooperative relationship in which agriculture and business grow together.
This year's holiday gifts consisted of garlic extract made from native garlic grown in Uiseong.
Gigyeong F&B accompanied the products with thank-you cards for franchise owners, expressing gratitude for their hard work while reinforcing the spirit of mutual support through consumption of local agricultural specialties.
Uiseong-gun Mayor Choi Yu-cheol said the county would continue working to expand sales channels for local agricultural products and increase farm household income through sustained cooperation with businesses.
