Daegu Cyber University signed an MOU with the Army Mechanized School on Tuesday to expand educational opportunities for military personnel and their families and strengthen mutual cooperation in education.

The signing ceremony was attended by Daegu Cyber University President Lee Geun-yong, admissions and student affairs director Song In-wook, academic affairs director Park Gyeong-sun, administrative director Gong Seok-hun, lifelong education center director Kim Cheon-su, Army Mechanized School Commandant Brig. Gen. Moon Gi-su and other school officials.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will cooperate on educational programs to support the self-development and lifelong learning of military officers and enlisted personnel, provide academic support for degree programs and job-skills training for soldiers, civilian military employees and family members affiliated with the Army Mechanized School, and collaborate on educational administration and joint promotional activities.

Daegu Cyber University also plans to use the agreement as a springboard to formally launch "DCU Dasi ON," a program designed to help military personnel and their families pursue degrees and personal development.

DCU Dasi ON uses an online learning environment to provide educational opportunities for service members to continue their studies while on active duty, and extends access to degree programs and other learning opportunities to military families.

"Starting with this agreement with the Army Mechanized School, we will actively support soldiers and their families so they can continue their studies and prepare for a new future while carrying on with their service and daily lives," Daegu Cyber University President Lee said.

Army Mechanized School Commandant Moon said he hoped the agreement would lead to a sustained expansion of educational cooperation that provides real, practical benefits to soldiers and their families.
