The city of Andong and the Korea Spirit and Culture Promotion Institute will operate parking-linked shuttle buses during the 2026 Andong International Mask Dance Festival to improve visitor mobility and ease traffic congestion around the festival grounds.
According to Andong city, the shuttle buses will run between the Eogagol Soccer Field parking lot and the riverside lot in front of Mask Dance Park — designated as the second parking area — from Friday through Oct. 4.
Service will run daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with buses departing every five minutes.
Visitors arriving by car can park at the Eogagol Soccer Field lot and take a shuttle to the festival grounds.
Several parking areas will operate near the festival venue, including riverside lots in front of the Seoul Arts Center and Mask Dance Park, space beneath the Cheolli Overpass, Andong Gymnasium, the Youth Training Center and part of a former railway site.
Overflow parking will be available along the road on the north side of the Youth Training Center and on the riverside stretch between Yeongho Bridge and Andong Railway Bridge. In the old city center, visitors can use lots in front of Ungbu Park, along Jungang Cultural Street, at Jungang New Market, at the Gusigjang public parking lot and at the Andong City Hall annex lot.
A separate shuttle service linking the festival grounds, Hahoe Village and Andong Intercity Bus Terminal will also run from Thursday through Oct. 4.
Shuttles departing from the festival grounds head to the Hahoe Village ticket office, then stop at Andong Intercity Bus Terminal on the return leg before arriving back at the festival grounds.
From Andong Intercity Bus Terminal, festival-bound buses depart at 30 minutes past every hour.
On Saturday and Oct. 3 and 4, when the Hahoe Seonyu Julbul Nori — a traditional river lantern and fire show — takes place, the main branch of Andong Gangoodeomeo Sutbul Garden will serve as the shuttle stop, in consideration of traffic conditions near Hahoe Village.
Operating hours vary by weekday, holiday and event schedule, so visitors are advised to check the detailed timetable on the official website before heading out.
"We are operating parking lots and shuttle buses to reduce traffic congestion around the festival grounds and help visitors get around comfortably," an Andong city official said. "We ask that visitors check parking locations and shuttle schedules before they leave home and make full use of public transportation and shuttle services."
