Cheongsong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Thursday that it is running an online festival on the Daum portal through Nov. 8, giving the public an early taste of the 20th Cheongsong Apple Festival.

The online festival is a digital content platform designed to let anyone enjoy Cheongsong apples and the festival experience regardless of time or location. Last year it drew about 3.2 million visitors.

Users can access the online festival by searching for "Cheongsong," "Cheongsong-gun," "Cheongsong apple" or "Cheongsong Apple Festival" in the Daum portal's search bar.

Visitors can play four games, including the festival's signature programs — "Honey Fun Apple Nanta" and "Challenge Apple Sorting Lotto" — and participants are eligible to win prizes such as Cheongsong apples and apple juice.

The online festival page also provides a comprehensive overview of the 20th Cheongsong Apple Festival, including key programs and the event schedule.

Cheongsong-gun said it will use the online festival to build anticipation and engagement before the event opens, and will strengthen integrated online-offline promotion to turn online interest into actual visits to the festival grounds.

The 20th Cheongsong Apple Festival will run for five days from Nov. 4 to Nov. 8 along the Yongjeoncheon stream in Cheongsong-eup, under the theme "Now, Cheongsong! Painted in Apples."

During the festival, a wide range of exhibition, sales and hands-on programs centered on Cheongsong apples — one of South Korea's leading apple brands — will be on offer alongside performances, food and other attractions, giving tourists a full taste of Cheongsong's autumn atmosphere.

"We have prepared the online festival so that everyone can enjoy a preview of the Cheongsong Apple Festival anytime, anywhere," Cheongsong-gun Mayor Yun Gyeong-hui said. "We hope you will enjoy the festival online first, and then come visit Cheongsong in November to experience the full charm of the festival in person."
