Cheongsong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province and its county council held a traditional market shopping event from Saturday to Wednesday to boost the local economy and encourage residents to shop at traditional markets ahead of the chuseok holiday.

The event ran from Cheongsong Traditional Market on Saturday through Jinbo Traditional Market on Wednesday, drawing about 600 civil servants and representatives from local organizations who purchased ritual food offerings and other goods.

Alongside this, the county has been monitoring price trends for key seasonal goods and operating a price inspection team to promote responsible consumer habits and stabilize living costs ahead of the holiday.

The inspection team is checking for excessive price hikes, price-fixing and other unfair trade practices while keeping a close watch on price movements for major seasonal products to help keep holiday prices stable.

The county is also carrying out sanitation and environmental cleanup work at traditional markets to ensure residents and visitors can shop in a clean and safe environment.

"I hope residents will visit the traditional markets, pick up quality local agricultural products and holiday goods at affordable prices, and enjoy a happy chuseok," Cheongsong-gun County Mayor Yun Gyeong-hui said.
