Kim Chang-yeol, 52, a member of DJ DOC, has personally apologized to an internet user who said Kim had cursed at them roughly 30 years ago.

On Tuesday, a user posted on social media: "Has a celebrity ever sworn at you? I have," and went on to recount an encounter with Kim from about three decades ago.

The user said they had visited a nightclub to see DJ DOC perform and, with the help of a waiter they knew, waited outside the group's dressing room hoping to meet the members.

When Kim came offstage, the user approached to ask for an autograph — only to be told, "Get out of the way, you [expletive]!"

"After that, I switched over to REF," the user wrote.

Once the post gained traction, Kim responded directly in the comments with an apology: "I'm sorry." He also left a photo of his autograph, apparently as a belated gesture to make up for the one he had refused to give at the time.

The user, who had not expected any reply, responded with delight: "Is this really you? Wow — 30 years of resentment, gone." Having finally put the old grievance to rest, the user added, "Starting today, I'm a Chang-yeol fan. He came through with both an autograph and an apology — that's a real man."

The user later shared Kim's reply in another post, writing with evident satisfaction: "I put up a story about getting cursed out by a celebrity 30 years ago, and that celebrity showed up in person to apologize and leave an autograph."
